To bring live theatre and dance to the stage in the State of Maine, Sheri Kean Productions, Inc. is not a theatre company, or a dance company but an organization that strives to gain community awareness. The purpose being to provide educational and performance opportunities to artists and audiences alike and to raise funds to support various causes chosen for each given year, through theatre entertainment.

President, Sheri Kean
At more than 70 years of age, when many drift toward a retirement home, Sheri is producing dance showcases. Why? Because Sheri is a dancer; a naturally accomplished and prizewinning competitive ballroom dancer, taking twenty-two 1st place ribbions in her first two appearances in Boston’s Eastern Dancesport Competition, but more importantly, it is Sheri’s honest desire to share this “joyful art” with all who love it. She formed Sheri Kean Productions, Inc. nonprofit organization in order to bring live theater and live dance to enrich the Bar Harbor community.
Sheri is also a dance instructor and teaches dance to those who want to learn and get out on the dance floor. Whether that be for her productions, or social dancing she teaches dance steps, techniques, pose, posture, and stage presence. Her instructional specialties include: Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, East Coast Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha, Hustle, Jive, Salsa, Mambo, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Charleston, and Line and Celtic dancing on Mount Dessert Island; and was the first in Maine to start a new Celtic Line Dance class. She worked her way into the entertainment business through her passionate desire to share this joyful art with all who love dancing. Sheri believes in “Raising from the ordinary to the extraordinary!” (~E.L. James)
